U.S. 202 North, U.S. 30 East Ramp Restricted at Night Next Week for Pavement Repairs in Chester County
King of Prussia, PA – Travel restrictions will be in place on northbound U.S. 202 and the ramp from the eastbound U.S. 30/Exton Bypass to northbound U.S. 202 next week for concrete pavement repairs in East and West Whiteland townships, Chester County, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.
The work schedule is:
- Monday, June 3, through Thursday, June 6, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM and Friday, June 7, from 8:00 PM to 10:00 AM, northbound U.S. 202 will be restricted to a single lane between the Boot Road and Route 401 interchanges; and
- Monday, June 3, through Thursday, June 6, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM and Friday, June 7, from 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM, the ramp from the eastbound U.S. 30/Exton Bypass to northbound U.S. 202 will be closed. Motorists will be directed to exit at the Business U.S. 30 exit, turn right on Business U.S. 30 and follow the ramp to northbound U.S. 202.
Motorists are advised that backups may occur at times approaching the work zones. The schedule is weather dependent.
The pavement repairs are being done as part of PennDOT’s $26.4 million project to rehabilitate the northbound and southbound U.S. 202 bridges over Amtrak and the U.S. 30/Exton Bypass ramp, and replace the concrete pavement on the ramps to and from U.S. 202 and U.S. 30/Exton Bypass.
Work is currently in the final stage of rehabilitation and re-decking on the outside half of the southbound bridge. The inside half of the bridge, as well as replacement of ramp pavement, was completed in 2018. Repairs to the northbound bridge were completed in late 2017.
The entire project is expected to finish this fall.
